The Minimeister program is a half day program designed for the up and comers in the family who may like to rip around the hill and are ready for a structured program. This program centers on the early stages of the Gliding Start phase of Alpine Canada's Long Term Development plan. The focus is on controlling speed, learning to play on skis and to boost skills and confidence.

This is a parented program where the expectation is for parents to tailgun the group and assist with riding the chairlift. Athletes must be comfortable riding the Silver Chair at Nakiska and must be able to ski from the top of the Silver Chair at Nakiska to the base area lodge unassisted.

Who: Athletes born in 2019 and 2020.

Prerequisites: If you are a new family to ski club, your athlete must be able to ski safely from the top of the Silver Chair at Nakiska to the base area unassisted. As well, athletes must have a minimum of 15 lifetime days on snow. We welcome skiers who have a strong snowplow and/or are skiing parallel. Athletes must also be able to maintain stamina and energy for a minimum of 2 hours of skiing.

When: Saturday or Sunday, morning or afternoon. Session will be decided based on athlete skill level groupings.

Time: Morning program runs from 9:15 am to 11:45 am and afternoon program runs from 12:15 pm to 2:45 pm.

Start: Program starts Saturday, January 4, 2025 or Sunday, January 5, 2025 depending on which day you choose. 

Days Off: There is no skiing on February 15 and 16, 2025 for the Family Day long weekend. 

Finish: Program ends Sunday, March 30, 2025 for all SARC programs with our annual Wearmouth Cup.

Team Fees: $880.00 per athlete.

Additional Fees: Alberta Alpine Athlete Membership Fee (TBD) and $110 per family for NASA Family Membership Fee. 

Fees Not Included in Program: Equipment, Lift Ticket, Race Entry Fees.

Volunteer/Fundraising Commitment: There are no volunteer requirements but this is a parent assisted program. Please contact us if you have questions. There is no fundraising commitment.

Race Starts: No sanctioned race starts, however all Mini athletes will forerun the Reitbauer Cup at Nakiska.
